THREE CIRCLES MARTIAL ARTS AND STANDING WAVE THERAPY

In order to deliver enhanced care to patients,  Dr. deWolfe developed proprietary therapies using principles and practices of Chinese Medicine:

THREE CIRCLES MARTIAL ARTS

“Martial arts is not about fighting,”  says Dr. deWolfe, “it’s about self-cultivation.”  Fighting, he contends, is a “side effect” of marital arts.  In actuality martial arts is a healing modality.

Over many centuries, martial arts evolved.   As a style spread to other locales,  it was tailored to best fit the culture and physique of the participants. New styles grew out of old ones.  Quite naturally the adaptation process meant that certain things were added, others abandoned.  As styles became specialized the emphasis was placed more on combat, less on personal health.  There was a shift from building internal strength to building external strength.

Dr. deWolfe created Three Circles martial arts to bring us back to the basics.  He calls Three Circles “the seed of all martial arts” : a style that uses the template of the Golden Ratio.  The Golden Ratio, an evolutionary proportion seen in everything from the solar system to human beings, is studied and celebrated by scientists and artists alike for its balance and efficiency.   By employing this ratio,  Dr. deWolfe devised a style of martial arts that is universal, that works for any body type, any level of student.  In addition to giving the participant the very foundation of all martial arts styles, it also, by using the Golden Ratio in its movements, brings the person into balance.

STANDING WAVE THERAPY

Still standing:  Sufficient turgor pressure is what keeps a plant from wilting

Turgor Pressure is the force exerted on the cell walls of plants by the water contained in the cell, which keeps the plant erect.  Think of the cells as little tires; when fully inflated, the plant stays upright.  When the pressure inside the cells deflates,  the plant wilts.

Although animal cells do not function like this, we humans, in our own way, are subject to “deflation”.    Improper nutrition, lack of exercise, stress, aging, illness –all work to rob us of our vitality.  This vital energy, which the Chinese call qi,  is what animates us.  Qi needs to be flowing freely, like a river, nourishing all parts of our body.   When qi is insufficient, or stagnant, we can feel a general malaise, fatigue, have low back or knee pain—”wilting” if you will.   We are not 100%.

As a long time practitioner of Nei Kung, an internal martial art that rejuvenates the body,  Dr. deWolfe wanted to help patients energize themselves, without the months and years of study it takes to master Nei Kung.    He developed Standing Wave Therapy,  which uses gentle vibrations along acupuncture meridians to replenish qi. (Think of it as charging a battery.)  This therapy can have dramatic results, from pain relief to overall strengthening.

Both Three Circles Martial Arts and Standing Wave Therapy are only available at 1st Defense.
